Chair before
Two amazing DIY projects on a budget
i found on "The art of doing stuff", a blog by this amazing and crafty lady Karen, who is really wort a visit! She transformed an abandoned chair she found by the side of the road into this strikingly luxurious dream of a chair, and a simple piece of tree-trunk into a stylish side-table that looks like it was bought in an expensive design-store.
For the chair, she simply covered it up with a Mongolian Lamb throw - no special skills needed for that one, it's finished in a minute, YAY! For the table - hmmm, looks like a girl must be a bit more patient here, but it sounds perfectly doable as well. Look at the instruction here.
Boy, i miss going to the fleemarket and look for ragged chairs! What are your plans for the weekend?

Oooo!!!! O.K., I am the QUEEN of the alleys and trash cans! teeeeeheeee!!! I have found numerous chairs and tables in the trash. I even found a GOLD GILDED MIRROR and I use it in one of my fireplaces! NOW...I love that lamb throw. What a fabulous way to instantly restore that chair! I have seen these throws at IKEA and I was wanting one as a rug. Oh Martina, MORE Tea....MORE TEA DEAREST! This has been a really rough year with fatigue and stomach flues....I think the harsh winter has really taken a toll on us all, and for those of you who don't always get as much snow, it can really effect your health! My sweet friend, I send you my love, hugs and wishes for a weekend of pampering and healing! Camomile tea is a GREAT IDEA, so is peppermint, for the stomach.
ReplyDeleteWell, I have one more day today, Friday for school. THEN THIS WEEKEND, on Sunday actually, is my 29th year wedding anniversary!!! We are just going out to walk around the malls and maybe if it doesn't snow, we will drive out to our favorite old town where there are MANY antique shops!!! LOVE TO YOU PRECIOUS, Anita

Ah, that chair has such a personality.
ReplyDeleteOne can actually see how individually unique it is. An excellent DIY project and an inspiration for us all. Off to Karen's blog for more;-)
WOW do I love this post....How are you feeling today precious one? Has that Camomile tea done its job? Oh am I glad it is the weekend. I had a rough day yesterday and I had to take a deep breath. I literally was about to faint because I allowed myself to get really angry with a student. He defied me, but I am getting to old to react in this manner. I must remember to keep my cool because I don't want to end up with high blood pressure over something that will be forgotten in his later years. WOW.....but it is time to celebrate and start over again. I may have to however, deal with his parents who will hear about our situation, but I did what I thought was right and I emailed them about the incident. I just basically scolded him and enforced a consequence, but you know what? I am young, but in some ways, I feel I am getting too old for this type of work! But I must carry on....times are tough and I am very fortunate to have work. WELL, weekends are our only hope!!!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU FOR COMING BY MY SWEET FRIEND! Anita

Oh Martina, we had SO MUCH FUN YESTERDAY in Stillwater, an old quaint town near us. ANTIQUE SHOPS and cool shops that have ribbons and glitter and crafts in the same bright colors that you display here gave us so much pleasure. We had such a good time; we are going to go out AGAIN today, our actual anniversary and play, play, play like we enjoy doing. THANK YOU FOR YOUR VISIT MY SWEET....I am going to just start all over again tomorrow at school. I am happy that the last week of March is our week-long spring break. Then, April comes, May, then JUNE IS IT...SUMMER VACATION BEGINS!!! May you have a lovely Sunday dear friend. OH! DO YOU HAVE SKYPE? I just signed up for it. IT IS FREE! If you have a camera on your computer, we could see and talk to each other! Let me know...Anita
