Painting in Circles

Circles creating sooting space ...

The latest painting of my recent "Circles" series. Circles is a theme that keeps to inspire and amaze me. The more i get inro it, the more i see and the more is there to express. Like worlds within worlds, complexity and simplicity.
Hope you find sooting space for whatever you want to do right now!

Welcome to a new year!

Hello and welcome toa new year of art and blogging lovelies. I know for some of you 2017 is not new anymore, but for me, shaking of hibbernation mode took a while this year. I decided to officially start a new cycle with the start of the chinese new year this time - the year of the rooster.

My motto for this year? I've given it some thought and what seems most important - in art as well as in life is:

Simplify

As in my role as artist/editor and designer i have to juggle with several balls at once - and also need time to just live and dream, it is so important to re-evalue what i do, to re-organize, to let go of things, to make the right decsiions and to make things sleek and easy.

What this really means for my paintings, i have to find out yet. I have been busy with a big brochure project for a client and took a break from painting. as i do soemtimes.
At the moment, i'm strolling around some new canvases and get more and more excited to get started again.

My current inspirations?
I recently saw an awesome show of work by one of my fave sculpture artists, Tony Cragg,
His sculptures are complex and simple at the same time. They have a strong presence about them, almost like living beings. And they certainly invite us to take a closer look, to look at things from a differnet angle.

A piece that has a place in art-history but  is available for an affordable price is this one that caught my eye byabstarct artist Hans Arp.It is simple and elegant, and fits with my new motto.
