Add some art to your home

Smile for a while!
Adding a piece of art you really like to your room will make you smile more than once, for it brings a kind of energy that nothing else can give! Again i was having  fun adding paintings of mine to some tasteful interiors i found, this time between the pages of style at home. What kind of art do you like best - i'd be interested to know!

  3. What a fun thing to do Martina, they look great! I love paintings, wood carvings, glass, I love fiber arts and photography, and, and..... With the internet and computers today, we can explore and enjoy beautiful things without leaving the home, even though standing in front of the "piece" is, at least for me, totally different experience!

  6. Art, does make a home smile. I have some painting of Ellen van Toor, she's a Dutch artist. Used to working, besides paint, fabrics, ribbons, fallen dried leaves, bird feathers. I love her style, happily colored. She made 4 artworks, using a handkerchief from my sweet father who passed away 2 years ago and using a tie from my husbands father who also passed away. You will understand these works are so so soooo precious to us.
Einen guten Abend, liebe Martina. Ich werde jetzt eine Tasse Tee trinken! xxxxx

  9. the art I choose totally depends on the room
in my office I would hang something inteligent detailed impressive & very skilled probably not abstract
in a kitchen or a bathroom I would pick it more for its colours and its feel not necessarily abstract but it could be

  14. GOOD MORNING PRECIOUS FRIEND! Or at least, it is morning for me! Oh dear, first of all, you lost all of your comments???? I had some strange issues on the weekend where I could not enter into some blogs....but there are times when I attempt to leave a message and then my comment gets eaten up! Oh dear, do you know what the problem was? I would hate for that to happen again to you, or any of us! WE HAVE SO MANY PRECIOUS MEMORIES storied up in our blogs and computers!

Oh Martina, your art is fabulous. You capture HAPPINESS and BRIGHT THOUGHTS in your work. You are an artist of the heart, not only with great skill, but with flair and love. It is always so refreshing to come to see YOU. Thank you dearest for thinking of me; YOU SHOULD SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL OUR TWO ROOMS ARE LOOKING, but my husband is now doing the painting and since he is alone in doing it, it is taking him a long time! The workers just need to come back to install some doors that are on order and once they do that, the only thing left is to turn on the electricity. I don't think my little camera will do this addition justice, but I am going to wait until all of our furniture is in to take pictures. I am having to wait as well for our crystal chandelier to come in and THAT is going to make a world of difference!

I must get going to work now, but have a WONDERFUL and bright day...as BRIGHT and happy as your art!

    GROSSES BISES, Anita

  19. Hello Martina, so nice to meet you and thank you for stopping by my world in Hopalong Hollow. I love many different art forms and styles. But book illustration is my favorite, I suppose that is why I do it! I am drawn to artists like Anton Pieck, Beatrix Potter and Jill Barclem because I am a slave to tiny details. I have been collecting "turn of the century" prints of idyllic country life for years. Since I decorate my home in a cozy, comfortable style, this type of art fits well for me. I can't imagine my home without art on the walls< and yet, many people do not hang art. Isn't that weird??!

  20. I really enjoy your blog :) I like pieces with flowers, but not 100% perfect, something that comes from inside one's heart, maybe a little blurry with a fun background :) that's just me! I must say, it is very inspiring, maybe I might just put sth on my walls, right now they're empty. Last time I had sth on my walls was in back in high school, Eminem posters and all that stuff.... LOL! I also like the leaves :)
