Color Transition: From Summer to Fall

Recently i was asked by Abbey Jones from Julep to take part in a blog challenge - to  help you transition from your favorite summer brights into some beautiful fall shades. Inspired by flamboyant dahlias i bought on the farmers market where i live, i chose to turn a bright scarlet red of summer into a warmer, slightly darker cardinal red - that goes nicely not only with classic black, but with all other colors that might inspire your fall wardrobe - from golden yellows over berry purples, soft browns and greens to misty grey.

This fall asks women to go easy and let their hair down, which is fine for me. Oversized sweaters, loose pants, comfy shoes are all on the  radar of fashion. To glam it up a notch, try an oversized Diva pair of shades and some extra delightful lip and nail color.

The red and purple outfit shown here are by one of my have designers, Paul Smith.

Especially on weekends, i enjoy pampering myself a little more and paint my nails. mostly i use a bright statement color for my toenails, and a light pink, natural mother of pearl shade for my hands.  What is your favorite color, when it comes to your nails?

Since i was also asked, ti challenge one of my blogfriends, to be part in this theme, i tag the lovely Kizzy - have fun doll!

Monday Love: Fall Treasures

Fall is called fall because things are falling ...
and changing ... leaves and fruits are changing color and are being tossed about and shaken of by the wind. And if we are lucky and keep our eyes ope, we can find things - to collect, to enjoy, to look at, to save up for the winter. These are some things that caught my eyes lately.

The first picture show homemade apple chips i've been making -  a delightful and healthy snack for when you crave something sweet. They are perfectly easy - see the recipe here.

Hope this week gets up to something delightful for all of us.
Grey can be chic and November can be a happy -
it's all about how you look at things!

Colored raincloud DIY

Does it rain a lot where you live right now? Here, it does! Colored leaves are getting wet and we're getting this November feeling already. In case you feel inclined to craft away with kids some of these days, here's a little project i did for the KidsLife fall issue: A cozy felt cloud with colored pompoms-rain. It's really easy and fun to do - and if you know how to sew well (unlike me ;)) - it'll turn out even nicer!

Hope you're having a fabulous fall weekend - will be round to visit you for hot chocolate!

Painted leaves

Bittersweet October.  The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.

Leaves are falling here now - our lawn is all scattered in yellow, red, orange, gold and brown, and when i walk to work by foot, as i often do, i love to look at the leaves on the pavement like little fished in a pond. I spotted these fabulous pictures over at my spanish blogfriend Elena, and just found them so magical i had to show you! Have a fab midweek, love from germany!

Monday Love: The shoes of fall

I can't believe October is here, do you?
Am in a dreamy mood, lazy, like a lizzard on a warmed by the sun stone wall. Maybe the influence of a magical full moon. But another monday is here and calls for action. Really? Since the sun is still out and warm, i'll dedicate at least one hour today to just that - sitting outside, soaking up the sun, dreaming ...  And. well - here's something to get you dreaming too - pretty shoes for fall, spotted here.
Emerson has long been a fave of mine. And although i deeply regret she doesn't model her things anymore, i still like her style! Have a bright and fresh start into the new week - step out with confidence lovelies!

Finding harmony

Happiness is not a matter of intensity but of balance, order, rhythm and harmony.

Hi lovelies, how are you? Are you just as happy as i am, the weekend is here again? Today is the day of the fall equinox, day and night have the same length. It's a day that speaks harmony and balance and invites me to strengthen these things. If you like to meditate sometimes, find a wonderful inspiration at my blogfriend Victoria here.

What is your secret to find (back to) harmony?

Friday art: Nostalgia

Hello, my lovelies, somehow, my mac is not working the way it should - everything is so slow and i don't get access to all of my files - so, i'm showing you some paintings from last winter.

I called this series "Nostalgia", for they are a reminiscense of times past, but also, of memories and of visiting places in the mind, a dreamlike state between things lost and things yet to be aquired ... These colors of golden yellow, smokey grey and purple so remind me of the ones i see outside now. What are you dreaming of these days?

Fall fashion

An orange a day keeps the doctor away!

Isn't beige and orange such a lovely combination? I fell in love with these shoes and the little dress with orange leather bag. Wooly mini-dresses are a favorite of mine in the cold season. They look so good with boots, and while you feel warm and wrapped up, you don't look too bulky. Stress here slowly winds down, i'm listening to classical music and look at colored leaves in beteween E-Mails. Hot chocolate anyone?
