Christmas decoration: 5 easy last minute ideas

5 ideas on a budget

for people who like it light and easy when it comes to Christmas - like me this year. Maybe because the days before Christmas for me, always seem to short to get everything done in them. Not just the decorations, but everything. So many things want attention. And because of this "hype", that doesn't really ad to the feeling of peace and harmony  i'd like to have, easy decoration seems to have what i need.

Neat little trees and apples in a bowl, doves of peace made from white paper, pinecones stacked up in a tree shape or a plain tree adorned with vintage photos that brings remembrance of family members and times past. I feel very drawn to this "Memory-tree". All these ideas are charming, and you don't need to buy a lot of things to make them. How's your decoration-scheme this year?

  6. GOOD MORNING MY PRECIOUS ONE! Oh dear, I thought I had seen all the new posts from yesterday, but I have to keep in mind that in Europe, you are at least 6 hours ahead of me.....THIS IS A GREAT MESSAGE HERE DEAR ONE! SO many of us seek peace at this time, but the HYPE, oh is it ever prevailing! But I ADORE each idea here to put some quiet calm and beauty into the home, on a budget, but using organic and simple objects. Oh Martina, what a wonderful year it has been getting to know you, and YES, I so agree that I wish I could send YOU ALL something, but time and money are never in abundance, but LOVE is. I receive all the love and care and friendship that is coming from you, and I want to thank you and wish you a quiet and stress free celebration. WE TOO are getting even MORE snow! Yesterday, it came down again. In fact, 9 more inches, and it will be the snowiest December in Minnesota history! Do be careful on the roads dearest; I was out yesterday doing necessary grocery shopping and it is so slippery. I hear from the Netherlands as well that they ar getting so much snow. Well, embrace the BEAUTY of it and may your life be full of joy, love and family.

BIG HUGS AND MUCH LOVE, Anita

  13. These are beautiful! My favorites are the dove feather tree, and the tree with the black & white photos. Both are very simple and sweet! :)

I think we should decorate the way that brings us peace and harmony, and the most joy to our soul. Very well put!

    Merry Christmas to you!!

  14. Dear Martina,
Yours is a nice blog...full of simplicity. If I could judge accurately, you don't believe in pomp
    and show.

  15. MARTINA!!!! Oh no, slush is not fun...our temps have become warmer, but so warm that things are melting. Our builders came yesterday to start the roofing and are back this morning to finish the roof! It is still cold out there, but one fellow is working with NO COAT!!!! We did get more snow yesterday, and I am staying inside because it is slick driving conditions. Oh dear, stay tucked in Martina! And dearest, this has been a fabulous several months getting to know you and I look forward to more friendship as the new year rings in. I wish you a cozy and peaceful day as we all approach the big celebration with those we love....

    Bisous, Anita

  20. Hi! Love the little trees with the apples - so nature-y. And love the bottle-brush trees reminding me of little German trees. And the doves! When my mother passed away, my grandson cut white doves out of paper and we placed them on the table on the day of her memorial. Beautiful thoughts; thank you and happy new year!
