Monday Love: Flowers and a painting

The temple bell stops but I still hear the sound coming out of the flowers.
Basho

Exiting ... how sometimes things, like these fading flowers, interact with a painting and  add to its composition. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder! I just bought some fresh flowers to invite spring. Do you feel it yet?

Colorful weekend!

Awake, thou wintry earth -
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!

Thomas Blackburn, "An Easter Hymn"

Happy weekend lovelies, how are you today? I'm in the mood for an infusion of flowers, colors, pretty pastels and fresh air! I know it's still some time to go, but, while earth is silently working on tulips and daffodils i feel like working on something colorful as well. The light is not really right for painting, but let's see what can be done ...

Paint your Outfit!

It's pink, it's fun, it's playful ...

A little painted outfit for your "inner Barbie doll" to get you in the mood for colors. There was sunshine today and a wee smell of spring in the air ... Alas, it is still too cold for little tops and sandals. If you could see me - i'm in thick wool- sweater eating hearty soup and drinking tons of green tea to get warm.

And i'm superbusy - this is why today i'm posting this painting, which is a few years old already and hangs in our dinig-room. It is quite big (160 x 100 cm), and it puts me in a good mood although i don't consider it to be a real good painting. Will be visiting all your inspiring blogs pretty soon, and see what you've been up to!

Lil' excursion into fashion

“I like nonsense, it wakes up the brain cells. Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.”
  Dr. Seuss

Before we all get totally sick of winter - here's a look into the future and i love it! Marc Jacobs Fall/Winter 2012 outfits look like the perfect mix of Mary Poppins, Holly Golitghtly, Alice in Wonderland and Jackie O. Imagine yourself doing your groceries wearing one of these whimsical hats ... OMG, that would make everyday chores so much fun - and i can see a big smile on everyones face!

Baked LOVE!

There is no surprise more magical than the surprise of being loved.  It is God's finger on man's shoulder.
Charles Morgan

A sweet little baking project to celebrate love and have creative fun while doing so. I have found instructions for this amazing icing on a great blog all around baking and decorating called sweetopia. I'm not usually a great baker, but at the moment, i love it. Maybe because it keeps me warm and is not as demanding as painting. Still thinking about what to give my honey on valentines: some funky baked lips? Have a sweet weekend lovelies, i'd love to hear what you are up to.

And: Please excuse my slowness in blogging or lack in comments. I have problems with blogger lately. The comment boxed disappear, when i want to write something. Has any of you a similar problem?

Monday Love: More cupcales & a painting

Which cupcake frosting tastes sweeter, the pink one or the yellow one?

Interesting question, and it shows so much about the power of color: all of the kids present on that day, thought the pink ones were sweeter and more yummy. Even though eitehr way the creme was spiced with lemon, one child said, the pink one tasted like raspberry ... So - it really IS true that pink makes people happy and adds some extra-sweetness to your life - make the test today:
Put your pink sunglasses on and smile at everyone you see!

Cupcakes, hears & flowers ...

This is a littel sneek preview from a fotoshoot we did last wednesday for our magazine KidsLife. It involved lots of pretty paper flowers, candy-colored cupcakes and lovely girls, just the right mix to get you all in the mood for a sweet and fun-filled weekend, as we slowly approach valentines day! Spreading the love feels so good in cold times - soon more about this!
