Decorate happy ...

Am in love ...
with the cute Mini-Pompons you can get at craft supply shops - just looking at them gives me ideas. It's carneval time here in Germany - so why not jazz up some cupcakes with a red Pompom "Clownsnose" to make little and big friends smile? The tea-table is easily transformed into something special by gluing on Mini-Pompoms to a simple white cloths - a fab DIY from "The sweetest occasion" - a great blog i stumbled upon today. Karnaval is a time to be crazy - so, let your hair down and through them Pompons in the air. Have fun lovelies and let one and one be four today!

Monday Love: Cupcakes!

Just a sweet little something to add some sweetness to your monday - whatever else will be on your plates today. Only good things, i hope! i baked these with shredded coconut mixed into a vanila dough and the frosting is just 2/3 cream cheese with 1/3 whipped cream, sugar and lemon rind - and a drop of red food coloring for the pinkish color. Have a delicious day!

Lemon-almond cupcakes

Life is uncertain.  Eat dessert first.
Ernestine Ulmer

I'm a big fan of all things lemon and almond, so i thought, combining the two things in a cupcake might be wonderful! These are the sweeteies i was talking about in the other post and if you feel like baking this weekend - give it a try!

The topping is invented by me and tastes very good on toasted bread as well. It's a mix of cream cheese, some whipped cream, lemon juice, a bit of sugar and a few spoonful of lemon curd.
As for the dough, you can use the recipe here.

I'm so glad the weekend is here for i've been tired all week! It's supposed to be a sunny one and we have planned: shopping at the farmers market, a barbecue with friends, some gardening ns maybe a lovely walk in the vineyards. What are you up to lovelies?

Monday Love: More cupcales & a painting

Which cupcake frosting tastes sweeter, the pink one or the yellow one?

Interesting question, and it shows so much about the power of color: all of the kids present on that day, thought the pink ones were sweeter and more yummy. Even though eitehr way the creme was spiced with lemon, one child said, the pink one tasted like raspberry ... So - it really IS true that pink makes people happy and adds some extra-sweetness to your life - make the test today:
Put your pink sunglasses on and smile at everyone you see!

Such a cute and creative party idea for her little girl who just turned 5 - with vintage china cups and Alice in wonderland setting. Banana Cupcakes

Cupcakes, anyone?

Some baking for our magazine KidsLife in the house of my lovely norwegian friend Ingunn. We made Banana cupcakes, following the inspiration given by the famous Bakerella, and had fun preparing everything and decorating with colorful sugar bits. The frosting was a bit too soft to keep it in shape, but nevertheless it looked good to us. If you're a perfectionist you should cool it for several hours to make it look like Bakerella did, but our kids couldn't wait that long ;) If you want to give this a try, look at the recipe here!
