Yoga doesn't take time, it gives time.

I love doing Yoga! Yoga practice is part of my life since the age of 18 and has stayed with me since. I haven't become perfect in the poses, i'm not yet enlightened and not over-ambitious, yet the practice and i have established a steady relationship, that helps me get through the ups and downs of life and stay sane. Stretching the body is also stretching and relaxing the mind and each pose teaches you different things.
Also, and maybe most importantly, there is meditation, which i do every morning before i start may day. It feels so good to let go of everything and just BE - breathing in, breathing out, connecting - with your own higher self and with the world. I feel, that meditation gives me a lot of energy and makes it possible, to stay present during the day.
In that way, Yoga also makes me sparkle - like a shower for the soul. Do you have a little ritual, that you love? I'd like to hear about it!
I haven't done yoga in ages, I really should start again!! I did it a lot before I had my youngest. I enjoyed it. I must start again :) This picture is so sweet...wish you a wonderful weekend Xx
ReplyDeleteLovely sunny spring weekend...love Ria...x!
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I am no longer able to practise yoga, but I love to meditate, daily if possible.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
Good morning Martina! You know, I've never, ever taken yoga, but what makes me sparkle for sure is good exercise. I lift weights regularly in our downstairs gym and we walk consistently. If we could, we would ride our bikes in the winter, but we can't. But the movement that makes me sparkle most of all is DANCE of any kind! Good to see your fabulous art work yet again, with its lovely pinks and happy colors! LOVE!

I first went to yoga classes at 17. We were very lucky to be taught at school by a very special teacher. who inspired the love of yoga. I've been to classes off and on ever since but lately I've let it go and I know my body misses the stretching. Thankyou for this lovely reminder of how good it is and I love your drawing! Have a good week Martina. :)

Hello there dearest one! I see you came by today, and I am so thrilled to hear from you for several reasons. But first of all, PLEASE share my poem with your friends. That is why I write, to communicate another view of life to others! Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteI am very excited to share with you that today in St. Paul, the neighboring city to mine of Minneapolis, I got to interview face-to-face, one of the artists/authors who I will be writing about. What a huge difference it makes to HEAR the person speak and add such life to the questions and answers! Which makes me wonder if there is a way that we could SKYPE? If that is not possible, I totally understand. But what a thrill it was to meet her in a cozy little cafe and enjoy such a lively discussion.
I look forward to MORE OF MARTINA soon! Big hugs, Anita
I have to say I adore this lovely piece of art. Wonderful!!
