Spring fever

"It's spring fever.  That is what the name of it is.  And when you've got it, you want - oh, you don't quite know what it is you do want, but it just fairly makes your heart ache, you want it so!"
Mark Twain

Have you got spring fever lovelies? I do! I want to step out and dance. Have been crazy busy but can't wait to go round and visit and exchange stories and easter eggs with all of you!

Friday Art: Takeaway sweetness!

These flowers taste good!

A little DIY project from our recent issue of KidsLife, that will go into print now - and one of my fave pictures, featuring a dress i hope to be wearing soon! It's really warming up in our corner of the world now and i hope for a sunny weekend and days to come. I'll take a lil' break from blogging, as i will be away on a trip to Berlin next week. I'll meet my brother Alex and my gorgeous friend, actress Sophie Sutton from NYC - lots of girly giggles and fun guaranteed! I'm soooooo ready for a little vacation, especially since we'll stay home over easter.
Have a sweet time flowers - will come by and visit you over the weekend.

Daily dose of lemonade

If life gives you lemons, make lemonade!

I was thinking about this saying lately, as this is a crazy week for me so far lovelies. Nothing works as planned, dates are being cancelled, things need to be rescheduled or being on hold and i just feel like being whirled around not knowing where to start or how to proceed. Time seems to be running so fast while at the same time i'm in slow motion ... I'm a big fan of lemons (and oranges) - and so, while i came across these gorgeous pix by Gordana for our magazine some time ago, i thought - yes, this might be the right remedy: A big lemonade and a green meadow to look at and soothe the mind!

How about you? I hope YOUR week is of to a fabulous start and am sending you lemony yellow happy vibes to whereever you are!

Doggy Paintings

3 dogs are better than one ...

Right?  Friends of mine comissioned me to do portraits of their dogs - the one they keep now and the ones who have already passed away. Like a little family pet gallery for the house -  fun project which i had never done before. These 3 characters are no "fancy" dogs like the puggies in the post below, but mixed breeds, one of them being picked up on a beach in portugal.  Below, you see a photo of Mina, the middle dog. Wich one of these is your favorite?

Mops en vogue

Ugly or sweet?

Are you are friend of pug dogs? In german they are called "Mops" which is much better suited, me thinks. I'm personally not a really a fan of these, but, they are so in fashion at the moment, that i can't help seeing them everywhere. Last time i met lovely fellow blogger and friend Barbara  in town, and, over tea and sandwiches we laughed so much about "Mops en vogue" that i decided to post about it.

My friend Monika who's a fashion designer, made a design for a Mops-T-Shirt for our magazine KidsLife and we got Julie Gaston to model it for us. Even though my cat will be jeallous, i think it looks gorgeous!

The little bejewelled Mops in the second picture was a present i got from a friend last year - it adornes one of my handbags.

And while browsing the internet for the funny little creatures, i came across an interesting project.  In collaboration with Steiff and Unicef,  Luisaviaroma launched “Pug Dogs for Happy Kids”.  A project that includes 20 of fashion’s most famous designers creating a "Mops" in their own style.  Soon, they will be available on luisaviaroma.com and all funds raised from the sale of these cute soft toy pups will be donated to UNICEF to help disadvantaged children in Bangladesh. Want to join in?

So, what's your opinion on "Mops" - ugly or sweet?
