A small painting of mine from my summer garden series. Played around with it a bit and put it in the pretty living room setting above. found on ELLE Decor. The soft shades of light pink, pearl grey and golden, mustardy yellow create a  delicate atmosphere and play in tune with the misty mornings and bright afternoons of october we have here. - now i've started working on some designs, using elements and inspiration from my paintings. I'm exited! 

It's fun to launch out into something new, yet it is also challenging. Not everything that looks good on canvas, works on fabrics, pillows, bags and so on. Am so curious to know what you think of these things listed in my shop here.

Monday Love: Artful easy living

Summer dreaming ...

Beautiful improvised szenes and styles that are fresh and easy like a summer breeze are a speciality of  Tara Slogget.  Viewing her gorgeous photos gets me dreaming about days out in the country, tea outside, faded english floral cloths, crystal jars, sunlight playing in the leaves and good times with family and friends - just right for a little holiday feeling on monday. Monday Love: Stripes

I love stripes. 

And sometimes, i also love to paint stripes. The first two and the fourth picture are paintings of mine - the first one got sold to a winery and decorates their very modern tasting room (1st photo).

Painting stripes has a meditative quality about it. You don't have to think about what you paint, you just go along with the process, intuitively choosing colors.

  Stripes can be seen as a lot of things. A landscape, a bookshelf, a window with curtains, a fence, a deckchair, a pattern - and they always seem to have an easy, playful quality about them.

Stripes look good on dreses too - but really what caught my eyes in this picture was the quilt in the backgroung - isn't it striking?

Monday Love: Cakepops and a pretty room

I'm having problems uploading pictures in my post today - don't know why, so i'm showing you something that was done a while ago. Does anyone else is having this problem? Would be interested to know - and how to deal with it.

Some time ago i spent sunday at my friend Andreas house making homemade pralinées for a production for KidsLife.

They came out different then we thought, but nevertheless beautiful and tasty. Instead of canvas and brushes we worked with sugar pearls and chocolates - nice for a change.

The house looked so good that i had to take some pictures of it as well. Andrea and i sometimes paint together - and have a project called "Malerei2". An old example of that cooperation is the lemon painting below.
