This is just a short post as i'm on a little trip to Berlin - to wish you all the most lovely Thanksgiving with your loved ones! I often find, that bright and happy colours are just what i need to keep my mood sunny and upbeat - so - these flowers are for YOU!

Natural vases

The natural beauty of fruits and vegetables is something, that often inspires me for my paintings, There is not one shape, texture or color you can ever imagine, that doesn't exist already in some ways, on this lovely planet of ours. And since summer is so abundant, why not celebrate natural pretties in some new table decorations. Even if you serve just a plain cole slaw or hearty cabbage soup, it will be a feast for the eyes, when accompanied by bright Dahlias in cabbage vases!

This picture just captures the abundance and wonderful spirit of summer - and - since this last weekend held the solistice and summer has now officially started, i hope you all had a great start into this wonderful season! As luck would have it, my Birthday falls on to the summer solstice and this year we celebrated here with a family reunion and a party with friends in the evening, Grace to this, my house is now filled with flowers - and - back to the SPARKLING theme - that really makes me sparkle!

Something that came to me, while i was painting outside, in a soft summer breeze. It's a small painting 30 x 40 cm, mixed media on canvas - one of a series of 3. Hope you enjoy June so far - for me, it should be 3 times as long! This coming weekend brings the summer solstice and the longest night of the year. And it falls on a saturday - anything planned yet to celebrate?

  Whatever is on your plate - hope you enjoy every bit of it and find your ways to celebrate April! Even if your patience is rested ... like mine.

Am having major problems with my internet yet again and MISS communicating with you in the way i'm used to. But try to concentrate in my art, the garden, things i can do the old fashooned way ... and try to sense the connectedness of me to you, to nature, to the world around. 

A friend once taught me to "breathe with everything there is" while having a walk. I love this exercise - give it a try when you find the time. Somehow, it brings everything closer. The trees, the flowers, the bumble bees - it really does make you feel alive!

This is a picture i took last year for our magazine - tiny flowers have a way to make you happy sometimes - try it!

Pink is always a good idea!

- now i've started working on some designs, using elements and inspiration from my paintings. I'm exited! 

It's fun to launch out into something new, yet it is also challenging. Not everything that looks good on canvas, works on fabrics, pillows, bags and so on. Am so curious to know what you think of these things listed in my shop here.

While we celebrate Easter here in Europe and in America, in India they celebrate Holi, the festival of colors, which sounds wonderful to me! Tried to combine them both in this photo – to send you happy easter wishes and blessings from my studio!

While it's grey and rainy outside here, i want to show you the color combination, that revives my energy right now: Golden yellow, hot pink, soft pink, purple, white and a dash of light citrus. Cheers to a happy new week lovelies! My garden is full of little blue "forgetmenots" at the moment and i found they make lovely "mini-bouquets" in tiny vases - some girly way to get more fun out of the little things! In the background you see one of my new collage- painttngs, featuring raspberries (yum!) and pretty bits of vintag paper, handcolored by another great artist: my grandmother!  Yes to abundance lovelies, i wish you plenty of it in the days to come!

Just a bit of watercolor happiness to get your week of to a lovely start.  I once did it for a series of potscards and it reminded me of how long it is i sat outside with my paper and colors, painting "al fresco" - something i really wish to get back to this spring! Easter is coming realy close now - have yo planned anything fun?

Friday Art: Takeaway sweetness!

A little DIY project from our recent issue of KidsLife, that will go into print now - and one of my fave pictures, featuring a dress i hope to be wearing soon! It's really warming up in our corner of the world now and i hope for a sunny weekend and days to come. I'll take a lil' break from blogging, as i will be away on a trip to Berlin next week. I'll meet my brother Alex and my gorgeous friend, actress Sophie Sutton from NYC - lots of girly giggles and fun guaranteed! I'm soooooo ready for a little vacation, especially since we'll stay home over easter.
