Friday art: new simplicity

These are two paintings of mine from some years ago i recently came across in my archive. They reminded me of my momentary crave for something simple and yet powerful. 

My life has been really complex in recent times, joggling the making of our magazine and keeping it alive, family, art – not easy to handle. As a result of that, i find myself a little stuck in my work as a painter. I feel like i'm on the edge of something new and hope that spring gives me the energy to bring it to bloom - let's see!

I'm thinking 

color, ease, good vibrations, collectedness, light, energy - 

and all of these things i want to wish you for your weekend too!

Howdy lovelies, how are you? Feels like i've been away for a long time now, hibernating in my den. Actually, i have been sick with a bad flu right after christmas and felt the need to just do just nothing for a while, exept being with my family and dear friends, eating a lot of good food, reading and resting.  

So - time to shake of this "jet-lagged" feeling and enjoy a shower of fresh inspiration. Welcome you all to the New Year! Can't wait to come visit and see what you have been up to. Do you have a Motto for 2013? I still look around to know, what mine is - let's see!

How's your week going so far lovelies? I must say that i'm in a cocooning mode at the moment and try to spend as much time as possible at home - maybe i need that after a really strenuous year. 

I do some planning and recherche for a vegetarian cookbook for kids right now, which is nice because it's a fun project and i can do it on my own. Also, i'm getting back to my studio and try to fifnish some paintings i have started. 

The picture above is  a recent collage-painting, using bits of pretty paper a friend brought me from China. It' available as a print in my shop now.

Orange Art

Happy November bloggy fellows! 

This month arrives here with full force and a mouth full of wind that just stripes the trees naked in almost one go. Here's some vibrant color mix for you to keep warm. A recent collage painting featuring a fruit i can't live without: Oranges! Aren't they just like little suns, so pretty to look at and so delicious to eat? Hope the week goes well for you - i feel like snuggling in with a goos book and lots of tea - and a lot of oranges!

Cheers to a happy new week lovelies! My garden is full of little blue "forgetmenots" at the moment and i found they make lovely "mini-bouquets" in tiny vases - some girly way to get more fun out of the little things! In the background you see one of my new collage- painttngs, featuring raspberries (yum!) and pretty bits of vintag paper, handcolored by another great artist: my grandmother!  Yes to abundance lovelies, i wish you plenty of it in the days to come!

Have a colorful day lovelies and don't forget - some dark hues are needed to let the bright ones shine! Some happy colors and warm tea (maybe a croissant too ...) is all i need to brighten my spirit and get my energy going on a cold January morning, even if i don't have time to paint right now. Friday Art: New collage paintings

Fresh from the studio: some new little canvases in a mix of acryllics and collaged parts of vintage books and papers - the first one got sold already! I hope to present some of my smaller works and prints in a little online art-shop soon and hope to find time to work on that "between the years".

How's your christmas preparations going so far?  I hope to accomplish most things over the weekend and just take it easy. After a very busy year, i feel a great need to slow down and let go and allow for some me-time. Happy 4th of advent dolls - will come round for tea and coockies and see what you've been up to!

Friday art: Painted fashion

Some collaborative painted fashion pictures by me and my friend Andrea. They were not done in fall, but to me, they fit really well into this seasons color scheme, and the silver dots might as well be raindrops or autumn mist. Are you ready for the weekend like i am? I so look forward to painting, walking, reading and some "dolce far niente", all surrounded by golden leaves!

This week was crazy - it flew by, things kept me on my toes all the time and i felt a bit "out of it".  I have the feeling, that for some of you, it was just the same, with holidays coming to an end, jobs starting, and a lot of hustle and bustle! This weekend, i've scheduled some much needed "Me-time" - which is also time to go visit you and see what you've been up to.

Wild girls

2 artists, 6 paintings

These are small canvases - a series of six  that are a collaboration between a good friend and me. I did the painting part and she added the crayon and typographie. We do this on a regular base since many years now and it's always interesting. It is a very special kind of work, and i couldn't do it with anyone else. 

We've started this way of working, when our kids were small and both of us didn't find time to paint at all. So we exchanged little sheets of paper, and each of us in turn added something here and there, until we thought it was finished. With time, we went on to bigger things and organized exibitions. At the moment, the paintings are part of an open house-show at my friends beautiful home.
