Small things - great impact

Still sweater weather here in germany, long underwear and woollen scarf weather - and boy, how i long to wear something different now. Meanwhile, just to have some fun in between, i play around with layering some new blouses over old sweaters, and wearing accessoires in a new way. Like wearing a glamorous necklace over a jeans-shiirt, or piling up a stack of bracelets to a colorful piece of waerable art.

It's amazing how much inspiration there is here in blogland, when it comes to defining your style. Almost everything goes, when it's mixed in the right way. What is your favorite piece of fashion at the moment?

P.S.: I have a great giveaway coming up tomorrow. One of the accessories you see in the first image ... Just to get you in the mood ...

And by the way: My new design for the blog is slowly getting, where i want it to be. Still a few little changes to be made - it's a process. I was aiming for something more light and spacious, hope you like it!

Love for a happy day!

Delicate Nudes

Love these subtle and elegant drawings by artist Beatrix Ost,  a woman who keeps fascinating me with her art and her style. She recommends 15 minutes of intimacy per day. 15 Minutes, she takes for sketching. I love this idea of a daily art routine, which is like practicing an instrument, keeping your fingers warm.Do you do anything like this?

Work in progress

If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.

Hi there lovelies - and Welcome to the new week! Am currently re-designing my Blog and am working on a new Blog/Website to represent our Magazine and publishing service, so please excuse if you should see something, that doesn't look so nice here in the meantime. I'm experimenting a bit and try out things - It's work in progress and i hope it'll turn out the way i want it to be some time soon!
Cheers to beginnings and changes and to the art of making everyday special!

A feast of colors

The ultimate of being successful is the luxury of giving yourself the time to do what you want to do

I just did the layout for a poster, announcing the upcoming exhibition of Sabina Wörner. We both met at art school a looooong time ago and have been friends in life and in art ever since. I just love the cheerful energy and baroque opulence in her paintings, as well s her vigilance to deal with the inevitable ups and downs of an artists life.

For those of you who can manage to visit Cologne in March at that time - it'll be sure a happy event and a feast of colors. See more of her paintings here.

And have a bright and lovely weekend of course - will come round for a visit!

Springtime brights

Not in nature yet, but in my studio!

Lovely shads of soft yellow and carribean blue, along with a lot of green tea gets me going for the week. These are some paintings that are waiting to be finished an i don't know how yet.

I have an intuitive way of working on my canvases. I start with an idea, but then i allow it to alter and change in the provess - like a dialogue between me and the painting. Sometimes, this is difficult, but sometimes it brings great joy!
It snows here again, but i see snowdrops and green buds here and there.Am sending you sunshine!

Flowers & snow

I have always tried to hide my efforts and wished my works to have a light joyousness of springtime which never lets anyone suspect the labors it has cost me.

Decorate happy ...

Am in love ...
with the cute Mini-Pompons you can get at craft supply shops - just looking at them gives me ideas. It's carneval time here in Germany - so why not jazz up some cupcakes with a red Pompom "Clownsnose" to make little and big friends smile? The tea-table is easily transformed into something special by gluing on Mini-Pompoms to a simple white cloths - a fab DIY from "The sweetest occasion" - a great blog i stumbled upon today. Karnaval is a time to be crazy - so, let your hair down and through them Pompons in the air. Have fun lovelies and let one and one be four today!

Monday Love: Pure energy

Happy start to your week lovelies!
While it's grey and rainy outside here, i want to show you the color combination, that revives my energy right now: Golden yellow, hot pink, soft pink, purple, white and a dash of light citrus. This is a triptych from some years ago, but i feel like making something along these lines now. What makes you happy these days?
